Organisational Readiness

Organisational Readiness
Supporting organisations to embed lived experience into their culture, practice and systems
The LEx Training Hub helps organisations, services and teams create the conditions for lived experience to be genuinely included – not just present, but valued and influential.
We believe lived experience has the greatest impact when it is built into everyday practice, not added on as an extra.
This means going beyond creating lived experience roles. It’s about shaping culture, systems and decision-making so that lived experience knowledge is respected, influential and able to make a meaningful difference over time.
Our approach is informed by national lived experience workforce best practice and complements existing frameworks, standards and guidance. It supports organisations to explore how lived experience values and principles are reflected in workplace culture, organisational systems and everyday practice.
Grounded in the LEx Ready: Organisational Readiness Framework, our Cultural Collaborative Workshops help organisations explore commitment, culture and practice through the lens of lived experience workforce best practice.
LEx Ready: Organisational Readiness Framework

Every organisation’s lived experience journey starts with a simple question:
Why does lived experience matter to us?
LEx Ready helps organisations explore this question and translate their answers into meaningful action.
Rather than telling organisations what to do, LEx Ready provides a structure for reflection, conversation and action – helping organisations consider how lived experience is valued, experienced and embedded to their unique setting.
The framework is built around three interconnected areas:

Together, these three areas help organisations move from identifying their why to embedding lived experience across culture, practice and systems.
Cultural Collaborative Workshops

Cultural Collaborative Workshops are a practical way for organisations to engage with the LEx Ready framework and explore what embedded lived experience looks like within their own context.
Through facilitated discussion, reflection and collaborative activities, teams work through the interconnected areas of Commitment, Culture and Design to identify strengths, opportunities and practical actions that support meaningful lived experience participation and workforce integration.
More than a training workshop, Cultural Collaborative Workshops create space for organisations to reflect on the conditions that support embeddedness. Participants explore how lived experience values and principles can be reflected in workplace culture, decision-making, leadership, governance and organisational systems.
The workshops support organisations to move beyond inclusion in principle and towards creating environments where lived experience expertise is consistently valued, meaningfully included, and able to influence culture, practice and outcomes.
What makes Cultural Collaborative Workshops effective?
Show "What makes Cultural Collaborative Workshops effective?"These workshops focus on organisational culture, not just individual learning.
Participants explore real workplace experiences, hear different perspectives and engage in meaningful conversations about culture, systems and practice. Rather than providing predetermined solutions, the workshops support teams to identify what is most relevant to their own environment and build on existing strengths.
Key features include:
- Facilitated reflection and discussion
- Shared ownership and collaborative learning
- Exploration of culture, assumptions and workplace dynamics
- Practical application within the team’s own context
- Action-focused outcomes
- Flexible delivery tailored to organisational needs and capacity
By connecting organisational commitment with workplace culture and everyday practice, Cultural Collaborative Workshops help organisations turn intention into action and strengthen the conditions that support meaningful lived experience participation and workforce integration.
Tailored for Your Team and Context
Show "Tailored for Your Team and Context"Cultural Collaborative Workshops are designed to meet organisations where they are in their lived experience journey. Whether you are preparing to introduce lived experience roles, strengthening support for an existing lived experience workforce, or exploring how lived experience values can be embedded more broadly across your organisation, workshops can be tailored to reflect your context, goals and priorities.
Workshops are suitable for leadership teams, service teams, multidisciplinary teams, boards and governance groups, and may be particularly valuable across the mental health, alcohol and other drugs, suicide prevention, and community services sectors.
Taking a flexible and tailored approach, the LEx Training Hub works collaboratively with organisations to understand their unique environment, workforce composition, capacity and stage of readiness. Together, we identify areas of focus, existing strengths and opportunities for growth to ensure the workshop is relevant, practical and meaningful.
To tailor the workshop content accordingly, we’ll work with you to understand your organisation’s context and priorities, including:
- Why lived experience matters to your organisation
- How that commitment is currently experienced across your workplace
- Existing strengths and opportunities
- Areas of focus for your team
- Practical actions and outcomes you would like to achieve
