Foundations of Peer Work: 2-day course

This two-day course builds upon several of the concepts shared in the Introduction to Peer Work course and supports participants to further explore and add to their Peer Work Framework and professional skillset.
Summary
The Foundations of Peer Work course continues to explore the values and guiding principles of the lived experience workforce as the foundation of peer work practice. Through group work and individual reflection, participants are supported to build the skills and confidence to recognise and put these into action across a range of settings and situations.
These values and principles are explored through key skillsets and approaches, with a particular focus on purposeful disclosure through the AIRTIME framework, the Stages of Change model, trauma informed practice, and working in multidisciplinary teams.
Who can benefit from the Foundations of Peer Work course?
- Aspiring Peer Workers: Individuals interested in becoming peer workers, who want to gain foundational knowledge and skills.
- Current Peer Workers: Those already working in the field who seek to refresh their skills or gain a new perspective on their practice.
