Lived Experience is personal knowledge gained from direct experience.

Peer Work is when that person uses what they’ve learned from their own experience to support others going through similar things.

People often use Lived Experience and Peer Work to mean the same thing, but they’re a bit different.

People with lived experience—those who’ve been through things like mental health challenges, alcohol and drug use, or suicide-related experiences—play a vital role in helping other Tasmanians who are going through similar things they have.

The LEx Hub provides training, support, and professional development so they can excel in their roles.

The LEx Hub offers training courses and programs suitable for:

  • Current and/or aspiring lived experience workers
  • Leaders of a lived experience workforce
  • Organisations who currently, or aspire to, engage a lived experience workforce.

Introduction to Peer Work (1-day): suitable for both aspiring Peer Workers who would like to learn about the role, or current Peer Workers who are seeking to gain a new perspective or refresh their skills.
