Courses offered by the LEx Training Hub have been developed in collaboration with relevant stakeholders across the mental health, suicide prevention, and alcohol and other drug sectors, including people with lived experience.

Introduction to Peer Work - 1 Day Course - This 1 day course seeks to support you to understand your own Lived Experience within the context of Peer Work and the surrounding framework of Peer Work values. Leading a Lived Experience Workforce - 1 day course - This one-day course is designed to equip leaders with the tools, knowledge and confidence to recruit, lead and retain a Lived Experience workforce. Click here to learn more.

  • Apply the principles of reflective practice to the Peer Worker role.
  • Articulate and recognise the importance of self-care in Peer Work.
  • Demonstrate understanding of professional boundaries in Peer Work.
  • Evaluate your lived experience story in line with ethical Peer Work practice.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the value and unique contributions of Lived Experience workers, as well as address integration challenges.
  • Implement best practices for recruiting, onboarding, and supporting LE workers.
  • Confidently lead and develop LE workers, promoting ongoing growth and retention.
  • Develop actionable strategies to embed LE roles sustainably within their organisation.
