We propose to construct six (6) totem posts through a community art project thus engaging the greater King Island Community to ‘open up’ and talk about mental health and what their interpretation of Awareness, Connection and Belonging is.

The poles will be base painted with a coat of orange paint and our Mental Health Week event will be held on the 13th October with fun, food and music and allowing the community to write, or paint their feelings associated around the theme words on the orange totem poles.

These poles will stand tall, be a blank canvas to start with and as they evolve will create thought, discussion and finally a visual remembrance of a special event.
